Speed Post is India Post's premium express mail and parcel service operated by the Department of Posts, Government of India. It offers guaranteed delivery timelines, online tracking, and proof of delivery across India and to 97 countries internationally.

Speed Post is one of the largest postal networks in the world, handling millions of parcels daily through over 28,000 post offices across India.

How to Track Your Speed Post Package

  1. Locate your 13-character consignment number on your post office receipt.
  2. Enter it in the box above and click "Track Now."
  3. You'll be redirected to the official India Post tracking page with live status.
  4. View transit history, current location, and delivery status.

Speed Post Tracking Number Format

Speed Post tracking numbers follow a standard format:

  • Domestic: 13 characters — e.g. EE123456789IN
  • International EMS: Starts with EE or CP
  • Registered Post: Starts with RL or RX

Your consignment number is printed on the receipt given at the post office. If you're the recipient, ask the sender to share it.

Speed Post Delivery Time

Delivery timelines depend on the distance:

  • Same city: Next business day
  • State capital to state capital: 1–2 business days
  • Rest of India: 2–4 business days
  • International EMS: 4–10 business days (varies by country)

Speed Post Insurance

India Post offers optional insurance for Speed Post consignments at approximately ₹0.50 per ₹100 of declared value (minimum may apply). Insurance must be declared at the time of booking and covers loss, damage, or theft during transit.
